Security and Risk Analysis for Intelligent Edge Computing

With the proliferation of development of a broad range of applications and services, cloud computing has captured a lot of attentions in last decade. Edge computing can play a pivotal role in cloud computing and services by addressing some challenges at the network edge. As an emerging concept, there are still many issues pertaining to security and privacy around data storage, computation, network activity, usage, and location and Intelligent decision making. There is need to explore how existing security and privacy measures for cloud computing can be applied to edge computing and how the features like heterogeneity, geodistribution, and wireless connection can be handled. Moreover, edge servers may have to cooperate in order to complete common tasks, while under different operators. This can exacerbate the problem of security and privacy. Developing our understanding of how to protect user and data privacy in these circumstances is essential to the further development of edge computing.

This Book is intended to collect state-of-the-art findings on security and privacy in edge computing, including studies on architecture and system design, machine learning, secure cryptography, data storage, data processing, and offloading decisions.
